Design Work
for PDC
I have served as the Head of Cartoons and Graphics for the Political Discourse Club at Purdue University for the last four years. In that time, I have worked on many different projects, ranging from designing logos to creating article graphics, and from merchandise design to illustrating cartoons. Below is a selection of these works.
About
Logo Redesign
Before I assumed my role in PDC, the club logo was the 2019 version. In 2021, I updated it, before undertaking a complete redesign in 2022. I first noted the club's core components--discourse, politics, the people involved, the round tables around which discussions take place, and diversity of opinion. I then sketched out several ideas, which incorporated these components. After running these ideas past the other board members, I began designing the logo digitally, and tested dozens of fonts, as well as testing color usage. The board voted on these final logo designs, and the final result was the black and white, and color logos below.

Article and Podcast Graphics
On the club website, PDC posts cartoons, articles and podcasts, all produced by students. As the Head of Cartoons and Graphics, I oversee the creation of the cartoons, as well as the design of graphics that go alongside the articles and podcasts. This is a selection of article and podcast graphics that I have done.
Merchandise Design
In my role as Head of Cartoons and Graphics, I also led the effort to create club merchandise. After dozens of designs, and time spent consulting with the board, these were the three designs I made that were voted to be the club merchandise for the 2022-23 school year.
Political Cartoons
This is a selection of the political cartoons I have drawn and published on the PDC website. As well as creating my own cartoons, I have worked with many other talented people and helped them brainstorm and execute their ideas, and get their work published on the club website.
