Projects
These are a selection of other projects I have completed, a mixture of personal projects and works for classes. The top two are a series of experimental illustrations I have done, made from a style I developed. The third work is an animation I hand-drew that explores themes of Death of the Author and an audience's interaction with a work.
About
Experimental Illustrations
Both of these works were drawn with ink pens, with each taking about 50 hours to reach completion. The representational foreground in complete black contrasted by the abstract background is a style I have developed and have found works well in many contexts. The white circles among the abstract background are positioned to emphasize the focal points in the representational foreground.
Death of the Creator
This hand-drawn animation explores the interaction of a work's creator and the work itself. A work is never complete; it takes on a life of its own in the creator's absence. The audience projects themselves onto a work, creating meaning where there may have been none, dispelling the myth of the author being the arbiter of a work's meaning. I drew and animated this in Krita, and in total, the animation took around 70 hours to finish.
